Valorization of scientific research results and innovation in maritime and Ports sector
As part of the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, a joint working
meeting held on , October 27, 2025 at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research office , in coordination of Serport Group CEO, the General Manager of Merchant and the Environmental Research Center and the General Directorate of Scientific Research on the other hand, to assess readiness of the new innovative industrial station for reception and treatment of polluted waters generated from tugboats and ships using green nanoparticles and solar energy.
Being the first experience in Algerian ports This innovative industrial plant, is part of the sustainable development and energy transition program piloted by Skikda port.
After commissioning and completion of technical tests showing the station’s remarkable effectiveness. Water chemical analysis passing through the treatment process were positive results complying with applicable national and international standards.
It also offers a new service to ships docking at Skikda port or passing through Algerian waters, thus strengthening the position of Skikda port as a leading facility in innovation and environmental development.
It should be noted that this innovative industrial station has completed all administrative and technical conformity control procedures to be nearly operational.
